The founding members of PDSS had been working since 2008 for the rights, welfare, and social inclusion of persons
with disabilities and older persons, even before the organisation was formally established.
During this period, they worked with state- and national-level organisations to connect persons with disabilities and
older persons with government services, welfare schemes, and their rights.
With sustained community engagement and growing needs, the founders recognised the need for an independent,
registered organisation to make these efforts more effective, organised, and sustainable.
To achieve this, a group of active persons with disabilities and social workers from different backgrounds came
together to form PDSS, ensuring planned, rights-based, and continuous interventions for the dignity and inclusion
of persons with disabilities and other marginalised communities.
